Mrs. Caryn Noel, MLIS
Library Director

Caryn Noel is the Library Director for the Adam Cardinal Maida Alumni Library.  She has a MLIS from Wayne State University, with specializations in Academic Libraries and Special Libraries. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona.  Reading and writing, in many of its various forms, remains a passion.

While reference and bibliographic instruction are two areas of librarianship that Caryn enjoys, she maintains a special interest in information literacy.  She currently serves on a Michigan Library Association workgroup dedicated to the issue.  Her belief remains that in this ever-shifting data driven society, both traditional and non-traditional methods of information seeking are vital.

Caryn is also active in the American Library Association, Special Libraries Association, Michigan Academic Libraries Council and the American Theological Library Association.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, cooking, sports, reading, and music.
